License Manager for WHASOLS
License Manager turns any WHASOLS product into a fully automated software license subscription, backed by the WHASOLS License Reseller Module. If you resell licensed software — your own or a partner's — this module handles the entire license lifecycle without manual work.
What it does
- Automatic license issuance — when an order is paid, the module issues a license key from LAS and creates the end client as a LAS customer automatically, scoped under your own reseller account. No manual customer setup required.
- Full lifecycle automation — license suspend, unsuspend, revoke, and renew are wired into WHASOLS's standard account actions, so your existing suspension/termination/renewal workflows just work.
- Self-service client dashboard — clients see their license key, plan, expiry, activation limits, allowed domains/IPs, and live installation details (hostname, OS, PHP version, application version, last heartbeat) in a clean dashboard right inside their client area — no extra login, no separate portal.
- Admin visibility — the same live dashboard is available on the admin service page: license status, LAS sync status, and installation health, without leaving WHASOLS.
- IP & domain ban management — clients can self-service unban their own installation's IP or domain if flagged; admins get the same controls plus manual issue/reissue/suspend/renew buttons.
- Secure by design — HTTPS-only API communication, sanitized IP/domain input, no credentials or secrets ever rendered in HTML output.

Installation

Install the module — from Apps & Integration page from your installed WHASOLS admin area. No core files are touched; this module is fully standalone and safe to remove at any time.

Create or edit a product — under Configuration → Products/Services, set the product's module to WHASOLS License Reseller.

Configure the LAS connection (Module Settings tab):
- API Key — your reseller API key, generated from your LAS Customer Portal
under API Keys
Map the license plan (Configurable Options tab) — set LAS Plan Code
to the
plan_codeof the LAS license plan this product should issue (found in your LAS Admin → License Plans), and optionally override License Type.

Click Test Connection — confirms WHASOLS can reach your LAS instance and that the API key is valid before you go live.

Place a test order — the module automatically creates the end client as a LAS customer (scoped under your reseller account) and issues the license the moment the order is marked active. No manual license generation required.
That's it — suspend, unsuspend, terminate, and renew all work through WHASOLS's normal service lifecycle from this point on.
Support
This module is actively maintained. Before reaching out, most issues are resolved by:
- Enabling Debug Mode in Module Settings and checking WHASOLS's module log for the exact LAS API request/response
- Re-running Test Connection to rule out an API URL/key problem
- Confirming the product's LAS Plan Code matches an active plan in your LAS instance exactly (case-sensitive)
